Southern California Trip

To start the year off with a bang, the whole Simmons clan trekked down to southern California for a week of fun and excitement. We stayed in a wonderful condo in Newport Coast.
On the first day the whole gang loaded up in our 12 passenger van and headed for San Diego to visit the zoo. What a beautiful place.

Our favorites were the Panda Bear, Monkeys and Hippos.

Tuesday took us to Disneyland's California Adventure.

Hannah loved the rides but was a little afraid of the characters.

Brian gets a bit motion sick on rides so I went on the big ones with Chris and Grandpa Doug.

Even Grandma Cindy enjoyed some rides.

Our next day trip was to Lego Land. It was really cool to see all the different things made entirely out of Legos.

Disneyland was the hightlight of our trip.

We raced around and hit as many rides as we could. Hannah's favorites were the Tikki Room and the Jungle Cruise. She got really scared on Pirates of the Caribbean especially since she and I sat in the very front and got a little bit wet.

The parade and fireworks were amazing (it's my favorite part). We stayed till the park closed and finally went home with a very tired little girl.

Walking

Our little girl is walking! We are leaving for our family vacation on Sunday and decided that Hannah needed some real shoes. Of course, she has had a number of shoes but these were more for looks than actually walking. Hannah has been cruising and taking a few step for two months or so but not so much that she has really needed shoes. Well, we knew that we would be out and about during our trip so we got her some cute little black shoes. As soon as we put them on her feet, Hannah walked across the whole room. It was as if she had just been waiting for her shoes!

Greetings family and friends. In an effort to document the goings on in our little family, I have decided to join the 21st Century and create a blog. This blog is mainly meant to be a journal of sorts for our family but I also hope that it will help us share our lives with the people we love.
